hideaki yoshikawa

Eye, eye, nose, mouth II

Clay sculpture, 34×8×9 cm.

At first glance, Hideaki Yoshikawa’s works, composed of countless dots on uneven phallic towers, seem abstract yet, in fact, they are all  ‘faces’. He puts ‘two eyes, a nose, and a mouth’ on each face, even when the faces are incredibly small. He creates every tiny face with extraordinary care, taking a long time for each.
