In 2023, Galatasaray University, one of the most prestigious universities in the country and a Francophone institution, will hold its 17th Technology and Communication Seminars focused on Visual Arts. The event will include a day-long series of talks and discussions featuring academics, industry experts, and artists, followed by a week-long digital art exhibition in a physical format. Curated by Isil Ezgi Celik and co-curated by Irem Coban, the ‘Apparatus’ exhibition will showcase 43 works by 16 renowned artists in Istanbul who use digital technologies to explore the meaning and power of images today:

In 2023, the 17th edition of the Galatasaray University Technology Days commenced with a keynote speech on “The Evolution of Philosophical Aesthetics” by Dr. Işıl Ezgi Çelik, a curator and graduate of the university’s philosophy department. Dr. Çelik organized the thematic program and selected speakers to explore topics including the relationship between artistic production and technology, the political economy of digital art, the interplay between art and algorithms, ownership of art pieces, the transformative social power of digital art, and the digital art market. The event concluded with talks by artists on their practices, featured at a week-long digital art exhibition displayed on campus in a physical format.
